Willy Dog

Mr. Shortfielder, and a second baseman, often in tennis white long pants and white tee shirt, Willy Dog was a ferocious rover guy who played with all the zeal of someone who had a great date waiting for him afterwards. At the plate, in fear of pulling a Dicky Dog, Willy Dog was super focused on never striking out and managed to stretch singles into doubles, doubles into triples and triples into being thrown out at home.
